Energy assessments for residential and commercial projects
Most residential jobs in NSW need BASIX. New homes usually need a NatHERS rating behind it. Commercial work answers to Section J of the NCC. Services can be engaged individually or combined.
BASIX certificates
Required for new dwellings, alterations over $50,000 and pools of 40,000 L or more. Needed before you lodge a DA or CDC.
- Water, energy and thermal sections
- Commitments marked on your plans
- Portal-ready certificate
NatHERS ratings
Thermal simulation of the whole dwelling in accredited software. It feeds the BASIX thermal section and gives you the star rating.
- Star rating and heating/cooling loads
- Stamped plans and NatHERS certificate
- Design options if it falls short
Section J reports
Energy efficiency compliance for fitouts, offices, shops, warehouses, schools and other commercial buildings, for your CC or CDC.
- Fabric, glazing, HVAC and lighting
- DTS reports and J1V3 modelling
- Certifier-ready compliance summary

Clear documentation, with options if the design falls short
Assessments are prepared from your drawings and specifications. Where changes are needed, we explain the available options and the updates required to the documentation.
Advice before upgrades
If a model falls short, we test design changes first, such as eaves, glazing size or window orientation, and set out the practical options before any upgrade is specified.
Plans that match
BASIX commitments are marked on the drawings so the certifier and council see the same insulation, glazing and fixtures that were modelled.
Coordinated documentation
Coordinated documentation across the agreed project scope, so the certificate, stamped plans and specification all say the same thing.
Fixed quotes
You get a price before we start. Minor revisions are a flat fee, and larger redesigns are quoted before any work.
From plans to certificate
Everything happens from your drawings, which is why the fee is the same whether the site is in Parramatta or Parkes. Turnaround is confirmed in your quote and starts once all required information is received.
Send the plans
Upload PDFs or email them. We confirm the scope, the required information and a fixed quote within one business day.
We model it
Every wall, window, floor and roof is taken off the drawings and modelled against the targets for your climate zone.
We sort out any gaps
If it doesn’t pass, you get the practical design options that would. You choose, and we re-run the model.
Certificate issued
BASIX and NatHERS certificates or a Section J report, with stamped plans ready for your DA, CDC or CC.
What to send us
Missing something? Send what you have. We’ll tell you what else we need before we quote.
- Site plan with north point (orientation drives the whole result)
- Floor plans, all levels (dimensioned, with room names)
- Elevations and sections (ceiling heights, eaves, window heads)
- Window and door schedule (if you have one; we can take it off the plans)
- Construction type (brick veneer, lightweight clad, slab or suspended floor)
- Services (hot water, cooling and heating, rainwater tank, solar PV)
